How can drones provide support for wildland firefighters?

Watch this simulation video to find out:

We created this video to show an example of how our heavy-lift unmanned aircraft can provide tactical support for firefighters. Our CAL Fire Adviser, Retired Chief Scott Watson, helped us to depict what a real-life scenario could look like: our drone delivering 100 pounds of fire hoses to a fire crew on the ground.

In a situation like the scene shown above, helicopters would be grounded due to heavy smoke and nighttime conditions. Our unmanned system could deliver a number of critical supplies to a ground crew, such as tools, fuel, food and water, enabling the crew to continue working without the need to return to their basecamp for supplies.

We'll be testing our beta-level drone in real-world conditions in the very near future, and we look forward to delivering a solution to support wildland firefighters in 2022.
